Do NOT shoot the tires of a hog (especially if using a Gauss Cannon), it will only produce minimal damage. Shoot the frame of the vehicle, it produces an even amount of damage.
The driver will receive a small fraction of damage when trying to shoot through the windshield, even if it appears broken and wide open. The driver will receive full damage if shot from behind and obviously from the side.
